Post-Doctoral Position in Bioprocess Engineering - Algal Biotechnology The School of Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering at Oregon State University invites applications for a full time (1.0 FTE), fixed-term, post-doctoral position in the area of algal biotechnology. The initial appointment will be for 1 yr, with the possibility of a 1 yr renewal. The min requirements are a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related position, with prior post-doctoral or thesis research emphasizing cell culture and biosynthetic pathways in a bioprocess engineering context. The successful applicant will conduct independent research on harnessing the unique biosynthetic capacities of photosynthetic diatom algae to make liquid fuels and valuable co-products within bioreactor systems. The successful applicant should have background with cell culture maintenance and development, most preferably with photosynthetic algae, as well as background with bioreactor cell culture and analytical tools for cell metabolite analysis, including GC, HPLC, and GC/LC-MS. The successful applicant is also expected to mentor and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students, and to assume both lead and supporting roles in the preparation of manuscripts for publication. Salary will be commensurate with education and background.
